Alright. So, as I said before, I planned to go explore all of the Horde starter areas.

Didn't quite work out that way.

It took me a few minutes, but I finally got to Tirisfal. I ran around... died a few more times, due to the Horde guards and the fact that there seem to be mobs much closer together there. Maybe it's just me. I'd explored all but one spot, and I wasn't sure where it was, so I went towards the teleporty ball thing, waving at a couple Horde as I passed... and then they killed me. So then I slipped past a hunter and actually got to the orb - but no dice, I can't use it. I'd thought that might happen. I headed back, and decided the only spot I hadn't explored was the SM area, which I'd thought was a separate higher-level explore, which is why I'd been saving it. After checking wowwiki, though, I found that apparently it was indeed the one I wanted....

I haven't seen any comments yet, but I figure why not - it's worth a shot.

-----

So I went out yesterday again to do more exploring (obviously). I finished up Azuremyst, then went to SW and then IF and Dun Morough. Now this starting area was a lot bigger than the other two, but I found it to be much easier - I didn't die anywhere near as much. Maybe because I was higher-level and thus harder to kill.

While I was there, I considered going up to the Ironforge Airport (since it is, after all, an exploration hotspot, if illicit). I decided against it, though, because I wouldn't want to use a guide (I haven't yet, and don't plan to unless I just CANNOT find the exploration spot for an area I need), so it would take forever, it doesn't really fit the end goal of experience through exploration, and I don't want any marks against this character or anything. It'd be really sad to have to do all that over again....

So. To begin with, an introduction. Please forgive me lack of blogging experience.

My dad and I used to play Final Fantasy XI (he still does), another MMORPG that came around a couple years before WoW. It's a lot harder than World of Warcraft now, and used to be even harder back then. Some of the bosses still haven't been defeated - at all.

When he was watching me playing WoW, and even now that he himself plays it, he was always amused by the fact that you can get experience from just walking around the world; he used to joke that you could level up by exploring, and even moreso on the rare occasions when somebody in the house has actually managed it by accident. But just yesterday, it got me thinking - how far CAN you level up by just exploring?...
